Writing this book took a really long time. Two years! It was hard. The title changed. The collaborators changed. The internet changed! My own ideas about what the internet and social media were changed. And my notions about the importance of privacy, even while we use social media, got deeper and more refined. I learned lots of new ways to get more private online, and I’ve shared them in this book as well.
For the last 6 weeks I’ve been working feverishly on it. Night and day. Just trying to get it done. Really glamorous stuff like checking all of the links. Making sure all the footnotes were correct. Formatting the chapter headings. Getting the table of contents to look right. Now that it’s done I feel relieved. 🙂 I’d love to hear what you think of it, if you’ve read it, and if you send me a picture of yourself holding the book,!

“When you have chosen your part, abide by it and do not weakly try to reconcile yourself to the world. The heroic cannot be the common, nor the common heroic. Congratulate yourself if you have done something strange and extravagant, and broken the monotony of a decorous age.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
