Welcome to Getting Donations Through Your Nonprofit Newsletters! I’m thrilled that you’ll be joining us for the next six weeks to learn how to create a system of newsletter communications to connect with your donors on a deeper level.

Now before you read anything else, PRINT THIS OUT. You will thank me. Print it out, write all over it. Make it yours. Put it in a binder and when you write your newsletter, take it out and look at it.

Over the next six weeks, you’ll gain the knowledge and tools you need to create both electronic and print newsletters that delight and inspire your donors.

One of the questions people ask me most often is:

“Which should we go with, an email newsletter or a print newsletter?”

You could do both, but of course, your most pressing question should be, “Where are my donors?”

Have you gained the majority of your donors online – or via direct mail? Are you finding, more and more, that your direct mail recipients are going online to make a gift, rather than mailing in a check? Gaining a greater understanding of your donors will guide you.

During our first three weeks, our focus will be primarily on email newsletters. In the final three weeks, we’ll be targeting print newsletters.

As a general rule, my communications schedules have included four print newsletters a year and 12-24 email newsletters.

However, the one thing that I’ve learned in ten years of working with nonprofit organizations is that there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to successful fundraising. When you complete this course, you’ll have a better understanding of a schedule that works for you – and your donors.

As you read through the class materials and bonus guides, if you have any questions about what you are learning or how it applies at your nonprofit, please don’t hesitate to email me at info wildwomanfundraising.com @ and I will get back to you with answers and ideas as soon as I can. Now, let’s get going!
